Help screen lock

Still learning my nexus7. Would like to disable screen lock but "none" option is greyed out and not active!!! What gives? How do I activate this? HELP!

I'm not totally clear on what you want to do. Do you want to make it so that the screen never locks, or so that you don't have a lockscreen security bypass?

What are the current lock settings? In other words, what do you currently have to do to unlock it?

I had problems with the lockscreen when I added details for logging into a VPN, I added the VPN to hide my IP address. I believe I deleted the VPN information and then I was able to disable the screen lock
