Help Screen locks on its own

alowishus

Newbie
Lately my g2 has been locking on its own when attempting to unlock. The only lockscreen widgets I have up are Google now and the camera.

Never heard of it. Something you installed probably.

Get rid of all widgets on the lockscreen. Just put a Google now shortcut. Also the camera is unnecessary. You launch it with the volume key.

How do you launch it with the volume key? Never heard that shortcut before.

Hold down the volume down key

Use it without a lock screen for a while. If it does it again, take it in. See what they say.

The only issue i had was the gmail widget reboot, but since taking out gmail widgets I've never had a reboot.

If you can ever get it unlocked, I would check and see what apps recently updated. Then clear the data/cache from the app; also delete and reinstall the app.

I had a similar problem this week after my Lightflow app did an update. It was locking the phone and kept turning the screen off, and I could never swipe to unlock the phone. I did the above steps and all was normal again.
