Help Screen Mirroring

jeff99

Newbie
Hi. This procedure (https://fossbytes.com/android-screen-mirroring-apps-pc/) for enabling Screen Mirroring seems a little kludgy and invasive (for lack of a better word) for someone who is not an Android developer (though I am no stranger to programming). Is the the only, or best, way to mirror my Android 8 tablet to a Windows 10 PC by enabling Developer options and USB Debugging? I need this to do this so that I can teach during the coronavirus sorta-lockdown.

I'm trying to mirror an Android 9 tablet with Build number PPR1.180610.011 release-keys.
Receiver will be a Win 10 Home, Version 10.0.418362 Build 18362.

Thanks.

Thanks. But I don't know how to use github. I can't even find the install for program you're linking, or what the program does or... well... anything. That might be too complicated for me.

here you go i found a very helpful article that shows you how to get scrcpy as well as other ways to do it.

Thanks. This looks really useful to me for several reasons. However, I will have to get back to this thread.

It seems like someone owned my new android tablet before me and I am either going to exchange it or have to find a way to clear it out and re-install android. I will return to this thread.

How do you know if it was owned previously? A hard reset should clear any old data though you said it was brand new..... so I'm confused

Yes, I'm confused too. I did purchase it new. But when I tried to install an app (Messenger), it had someone else's user info in there.

I will look up hard reset.

OK, I'm back to this thread. Don't ask me how being locked inside during a Coronavirus scare keeps me even busier than before.

Even after doing a hard reset, I tried to install Messenger and someone else's name was on the machine. I intend to return it, however, the store that sold it to me is closed down for the time being.

Thanks all your help. I'm ending this thread because I'm going to return the device and I will use a pen tablet my school sent me.
