screen on when not in use, why?

why does my screen keep turning on when I'm not using it? I have a Kyocera event. It wastes my battery!

I'd offer some suggestions,perhaps if you'd re-post w/a bit more information,namely what it is you're seeing w/the random screen-on events,apps installed,etc......
