Help Screen problem/Slow/Alternatives.

Okay, so, I bought this phone today after hearing great things about it for the price. My mum has the Galaxy S, so I kinda had an idea what to expect with this cut-down version. However, I'm a little disappointed. I knew the screen resolution wasn't going to be anything near to that of the Galaxy S, but my screen, at least, the background picture seems low res, and sometimes (especially in the Twitter app) some gradient colours seem poor. Also, about a quarter into the screen from the left there's a greenish, perfectly straight line, that can be seen faintly against blue's and greys.

Also, can the Apollo run Angry Birds? Wasn't sure if it would, but when I tried it, it lagged so much it was unplayable.

I dunno whether to take it back to the Carphone Warehouse and ask them to look at it and maybe exchange it... provided they don't feel as though the issues I've mentioned aren't enough to warrant a replacement... or to maybe exchange it for another Android phone.

I was looking at the LG Optimus One in the shop, and that screen seemed awesome. Brighter, sharper and more colourful than my phone. It's another

Wow sounds like your phone is faulty to be truly honest. I've never had any res issues with my phone. My display is actually crystal clear and I can't even tell the difference between this and HD phones.

One question though, have you tried changing the wallpaper, or even changing your home launcher? I know this probably won't be the case as you're experiencing lag issues, but doesn't hurt to try.

Also, the phone doesn't lag for me in many games. The only game I've had a LITTLE bit of lag, was "Heavy Gunner 3D", which to the phone's defense is a pretty graphics intensive game.

Personally I'd return it ASAP before any "satisfaction guaranteed" warranty expires. I've heard good things about the SGS Mini, but my friend has one and it kind of reminded me of the Sony Xperia Mini. And from the specs it looks identical to the SG3, so I'd first just replace your phone with a brand new Apollo.

Really? It's not too bad on my phone. I can shoot pretty easily, and rotating doesn't lag at all. It's only when the mobs fly really close to me that it starts to lag. But It's definitely playable for me. I'm using a custom rom though with all stock apps removed and a lot "cleaner" system then default.
