Lurker
Hi,I bought an Htc Wildfire S about a month ago, its an A510b or a Telstra / Tesco network unlocked phone. For the first day or so it worked okay but then it screwed up. The touch screen and the 4 bottom buttons stop responding after a minute or so. It happens soo often that the phone is completely useless. The screen stay frozen till i lock and unlock the phone, or I press the volume buttons ; it then works for a few seconds till it freezes again. However when the phone is on charge, it functions completely normally.I was so upset that I stayed up 2 whole nights and learnt to unlock bootloader and root the phone thinking it would fix it. After rooting it worked normally .... for a few hours before going berserk again. Now my warranty is void, the franchise owners here don't know anything and my parents will kill me if they find out I destroyed my phone. Thank you in advance.

p.s Sorry for the bad English, first time posting and I am like 15 so please give insructions using easy terms.

I have tried using another battery.

Welcome to the forums, bidybij. I'm sorry to see that you've purchased a device in such poor working condition after only one month of use. Have you tried a factory data reset? That along with cache clearing in the Application Manager could help a lot.

However, from your description of lack of functionality, it seems to me that the best course of action would be to return the device to the point of purchase for repair/exchange/refund; whichever is allowed.

I cannot see rooting as a resolution to those listed issues you provide. Perhaps others with the Wildfire S will offer another opinion and a remedy, but I think you should return it for money back to you or another device.
