Screen protection- avoid tempered glass!

Just a reminder to anybody who ends up buying this phone - If you are looking for screen protectors, DO NOT waste your money on, or install 9/6H, explosion, critical mass-proof tempered glass! The proximity sensor on this particular phone appears to be very sensitive, and thick tempered glass WILL affect your keyboard, also give you a "move your hand" error while in a phone call as well as causing other touch problems. Thin plastic (like superShieldz) work great without affecting T/S operation.

Good advice! Thanks. We didn't really have tempered glass screens back then when the phone was close to new.. did we? Makes me wonder how many more old devices hate the glass protectors

This phone is Kyocera's latest and greatest, and it seems odd that it reacts the way it does with tempered glass. I have a few other phones with the same type of glass and they seem to be fine?
Works great now!

apparently I'm having some kind of forums app issue where the threads opening are giving incorrect thread titles. Like, when I open this one the 1st time, it said it was a ZTE Force thread.. So I was so surprised at a lot of implications. My bad, good look.
On another note.. That motor air pocket thing you once mentioned helped my car immensely. It was a headgasket leak causing the pocket and corresponding issues that evolved. All fixed now. Thanks again, bro!

I had the Kyocera Brigadier for about 3 years. Kyocera advertised their Sapphire glass as very hard to scratch. I had no screen protector. This was indeed true. My 3-year-old Brigadier's screen was spotless when I sold it. This latest and greatest from Kyocera is advertised w/the same sapphire glass.

We don't need no damn screen protector!!! :)

Verizon Duraforce Pro, no you don't. AT&T, T-Mobile Duraforce variants, yes you should. Sapphire glass only on VZW models.

Whoa! Yes, I have Verizon. I didn't realize they made the same phone without sapphire for other providers. Just another reason to get Verizon...

Edited: 05 DEC 17: Changed to T-Mobile. Much better deal et al-but yes, they are rated #2 behind Verizon... I bought my Verizon branded Kyocera on E-Bay unlocked etc. The sapphire glass really is hard to scratch.
