Screen Protector

Does anyone use a transparent screen protector (for scratches) on their S2? I had one, but my phone fell screen first onto the glass corner of my table and fell onto the floor... so the screen protector is messed up. I removed it and saw the actual touch screen. The Gorilla Glass did its job, not a scratch on the screen. Should I get another screen protector or is Gorilla Glass gonna keep me scratch-free?

Serves me right, to make a thread without a search. But I'd still be happy if someone replies.

I've used invisible shield by zagg on my last three phones and not one of them has had a single mark on them after 2 years in a dusty sandy pocket or being used with dirty gritty fingers.

Only problem with any screen protectors is that it doesn't feel quite as nice to touch. But I will put one on, a non matte one, as Russel said, to have the screen in its full glory.

I think the good clear screen protectors would not cause much impact. I got the matted one because the seller mentioned its finger print proof (You still get smudges, just not so much I guess).

I regretted it because I rather have the screen looking really nice. I've seen some of the good ones on IPhones and they are clear without effect on touchscreen performance so I am sure the same can be had for SGS2.

Cheers

There are some who think that Gorilla Glass is scratch proof, but it isn't. I always recommend a screen protector. My Zune HD also used Gorilla Glass and it had a nice gouge in it.

My personal favorite is the SGP Oleophobic.

It has the same anti-fingerprint coating that the screen has. Also, this coating will wear out on any device, and when it does, it doesn't look pretty! It happens as early as 6 months with moderate use. Best to wear this coating out on a temporary screen and not the permanent one! This is what your screen permanently looks like when the coating wears out.
