Accessories Screen protector

Hi,

Probably this sounds stupid ... but I never owned a capacitive mobile phone.

I am soon getting this HTC Desire (pre-ordered already).

Is it necessary to put screen protector like the usual plastic thingy?

Or the capacitive screen means hardly (very hard) scratch-able?

PS: My current device is HTC Kaiser.

Thanks.

I'm a big fan of Brando screen protectors. Unfortunately, they have nothing specifically for the Desire yet. Does anyone know if the protector for the Nexus One will fit the Desire? As HTC make both, is it the same screen?

i saw your thread at xda :D

Im sure after the release of Desire they will bring out some screen protectors.

Had a reply from Brando. At th moment they don't have a timeline as they haven't got hold of the phone yet.

You guessed wrong, I have both, tried a spare N1 protector, the phones are actually more different in shape than people think. The Desire is a rectangle with straight lines where the N1 has curves on the top and bottom and this follows onto the shape of the screen. I had to cut to fit.

I agree, I got one with my MDA compact 4 (in the box) and its still on there after 20 months, not sure why they supply two for the desire! Sometimes poundland have them I bought some for my MP3 player and they were better than the ones costing more, even if you have to cut them yourself!

How about InvisibleShield? is it any good?

If some of you have used it is it easy to put on and is it easy to remove if i dont like it after a week or two?

I heard there are better (anti-glare/fingerprint screenshields) that will come out soon.... but have not got a clue what make, been advised that InvisibleShield are simple and not great for the price

Hey guys,

Just found (and purchased) this on ebay 380228199152 - 5 for

I got Martin Fields ones, took 2 days to arrive from Hong Kong and fit is perfect - best I've used but weren't cheap

Ebay item

290430253884as poted above didn't fit correctly, they are packaged as HTC G7 screen protectors, they are about 1mm too thin leaving an edge on the screen.
Think i'll wait for HTC to get the official ones in stock as they'll be 100% fit

I hope HTC get stock sorted soon, as I have loads of fine/light scratches on my screen :(
So do i, i'm using the sock from my Touch HD for the monent to protect the Desire.
Why didn't they put a screen protector and sock in the box for the Desire?

Hi, it says the play ones are available from 5th May. Has anyone tried one of these from the previous batch or know anything about them?

Got my Desire on Friday and never had a phone like this so a big newbie here!
