Screen protector?

Yes, I use one and have since the phone arrived. Figured its better to use a protector and have the ability to remove it, than scratch the phone and wish I had.

Well I ask because I ordered a pack of 3 clear screen protectors and they arrived about an hour before I made the thread, I stuffed up the first two then the third one had two noticable bubbles that wouldn't go away so I tried to re apply that but of course it didn't work. So I'll have a look and find some better ones.

:ditto: if there's a Ghost Armor Kiosk near you let them install it. The screen protector is tougher than nails and their techs do a great job installing them.

Ghost Armor

It seems that the only store in Australia is on the other side of the country lol :-(

It wasn't this hard to put on a screen protector on my old phones, I guess I'll try and see if I can get it done at a random phone kiosk.

I use the HD Tech Armor ones. Dry application and doesnt affect screen quality like some of the smudge proctectors.

Ok well I ordered this one last night, it looks pretty good.

I found that it helps to be in a little bit of a humid room if possible to keep dust down (like shortly after a shower, in the bathroom). Also, I usually rinse my hands off and dry them loosely, enough to keep water off, but still hopefully enough to be damp enough to discourage static. It's a pain to make sure the screen is clear, since any dust becomes a pain once there. I usually hold my breath as long as possible, wipe the screen with a microfiber while staring at it under light from every angle possible, trying to clear any smudges, and dirt. Lots of times, it takes me a few wiping sessions before I dare try the protector. And even then, I ain't perfect half the time. lol.

You will want a screen protector. I am coming from a Windows Lumia 920, same Gorilla glass 2 screen. I did not put a screen protector on the Lumia. After a while, with a few drops, there are scratches on the screen. (But nothing is noticeable when the screen is on.)

Ghost armor is good.

Thanks guys, I thought that since this phone has Gorilla Glass 2 that it might not be necessary but it's good to protect your investment.

The screen protector is meant to arrive in about 1-2 weeks I think since its from Hong Kong but I have a Nilkin case coming in which has a screen protector included (a crappy one) but hopefully I can apply that one decently so it holds me over till the good ones arrive.

Like others have said use scotch tape to get the rest of the dust off once you wipe it clean.

If it is a dry application, make sure to wash your hands to get oil and grease off, wipe it off, use the scotch tape and apply from one end to the other, trying to smooth as best as you can as you go.

Gorilla glass makes it a bit stronger, but it will eventually scratch. It will. That's that. It's not even a question.

Some people don't put it because it feels weird to them, so they just accept the eventual scratches.

All glass will scratch with a tiny grain of sand. Even if it rests in a pillow of feathers all day, eventually it will scratch.

Some will say that they have their phones without screen protectors and they have never had a screen scratch. This is bullshit. Trust me.

As for the screen protector, let the store do it. It's very staticky under the screen protector and every little tiny piece of dust or lint will cause bubbles.

Basically, you have to spend a while with a little piece of scotch tape picking up all the little specs of lint. This may take a while.

I never put them on myself. I just go to the phone store and let them put it

Ok I got my Nillkin case the other day, and just a few minutes ago I put on the case that came with it. They included this blue tape for peeling off the dust which helped and I managed to get it on pretty decently, there was one bubble that stayed near the top left corner but I got nearly all of it out so i'm happy.
