Screen protectors

I have a Galaxy S80 an OtterBox defender case. While looking for reviews of screen protectors I saw that the OtterBox defender case has problems with some screen protectors.

Anyone have recommendations for screen protectors that won't lift up at the edge with my configuration?

Thanks

The problem with any and all screen protectors (plastic film, or glass) is they don't work 100% with the curved edges of the Galaxy S8. This has been a known issue since the Galaxy S6 Edge and little has changed.

While curved glass protectors are now extremely common, almost all of them create what's known as the "rainbow effect" in the middle of the display. All I have to say is good luck and actually look forward to anyone else's advice as I've seen nothing but 1-star reviews on Amazon.

I have the S8 along with the Otterbox Defender case. I purchased the Otterbox Alpha Glass Screen Protector that is allegedly compatible with the Defender case.
There were problems with the first Alpha Glass protector in that VERY hard presses were having to be made to use the S8 screen. I contacted Otterbox who replaced the Alpha Glass protector.

However I have the same situation in that when fitted it still requires very hard presses to the screen to make the S8 respond. Also the swiping down action required to display the Quick Action tiles does not occur, but if the Alpha Glass is removed there are no problems whatsoever.

With the unresponsive effect and the inability to display the Quick Action Tiles it makes the Alpha Glass screen (in my humble opinion) virtually useless in everyday use, excepting that it is able to prevent damage to the screen.

If you consider the combined costs of the two units: Otterbox Defender plus Alpha Glass it makes the total cost excessive in comparison to previous editions of the Defender as well as making it an inferior product.

Why screw around with those bulky Otterbox cases when you can get quality sleek designed cases from Spigen and one of there NON-Glass screen priotectors. Reviewers have said that their screen protectors haven't been lifting from the case. I was surprised how well the 'wet' application protector covered the edge but leaves room for a well designed fitting case. The only thing I'm picky about is the slight orange peel surface IF you look for it. Otherwise you can't really notice it. When you turn on the display and even a 4K video, you'd never know that it had a screen protector.

My (daughters) S8+ is clipped into the plastic holder of a Samsung S-View Flip Cover case and the protector is perfectly fine in it. That flip case is so cool because it has a glossy like see through cover that let's you see your time, texts/notifications and answer calls. It does however have a small NFC disc on the cover to turn off Always on display when you close it. I haven't tried going into settings to see if I can do something to reverse that closed-cover-turn-off feature yet. I also did just find a Genuine Samsung screen protector that's the older style clear gloss PET film w/'dry' application which they describe as being a bit curved to fit the edge better and keep from lifting.

It was odd that they don't offer it here on the US Samsung sites but have it available in most other countries. I did find an Ebayer in Florida so I should have it soon.

You may be surprised as to how sleek the Otterbox Defender is for the S8 as opposed to earlier versions. I previously had Otterbox Defenders for the S4 and S6
