Help Screen Protectors?

Ever since I've gotten my Triumph its been "protected" by an Xtreme guard screen protector, I haven't taken off the stock screen protector so I pretty much have two screen protectors. I've just been wondering if I take off my Xtreme guard and the stock protector will my screen be fine? I absolutely HATE scratches and stuff on/in my screen and that's pretty much why I'm wondering if I should take off my screen protector. So, what should I do? Any help is appreciated. :D

Also, does anyone know if the Xtreme Guard screen protector is reusable, its one of the wet apply screen protectors.

Lol I had two screen protectors on at one point, decided to take both of them off. The Gorilla Glass has been pretty reliable. Had it off for about a month now and not one scratch.

So there's no scratches on your triumph? Did you take off the stock/factory applied one?

I had just the bare glass on mine (yes by removing the super thick stock one) and had a screwdriver taken to my screen and not one scratch on it.

Thanks for the info! Just wondering, does the sensitivity improve, and does it feel better than with the protector?

Well I can't say much on sensitivity since I took the stock protector off pretty much right away although a lot of people says that it does improve sensitivity... But it does feel nicer than most protectors since it is just a nice and perfectly smooth screen.

Yeah I took off both the stock and the one I had on there. For me, I noticed more sensitivity to the screen, since I myself had 2 protectors. And yes, not one scratch.

If you hate scratches, then don't keep it without a screen protector. Unless you're really really careful with where you put your phone. My current triumph (a replacement one) seems especially bad with scratches. Like there are these weird dot scratches all over the screen, for lack of a better way to describe them. Also, the screen cracked really easily compared to my other one, it seems. Plus my first triumph, while it never cracked, still got scratches from dropping it and such.
It does sound like your screen protector is reusable if it's one of those that uses water, so I'd suggest removing both protectors then putting that one back on. The screen will probably be more responsive that way.

What do you mean "dot scratches"? Like when you hold it up to light you can see dots? because if that's what you mean then it's more than likely the dot matrix on the digitizer that you are seeing and not scratches. As far as scratch resistance it doesn't get scratches easily at all, even my OV which has a plastic screen only got a tiny scratch because I dropped it while riding my bicycle... Although then again it seems some people's screens are weaker than others so I'm not completely sure on everything...

Pretty sure they're scratches, they don't follow the matrix pattern that you're talking about. I uploaded a pic. All the dots that don't follow the pattern are scratches. I thought it was just dirty at first, but I've cleaned the screen many times--and I also feel the scratches when I run my nail across them. It's really weird because my other triumph only got "line" scratches. I guess I'm just really awful to phones...

That is strange and I see what you are talking about... My MT went through hell and back is fine (well before I started messing with taking it completely apart and such the screen on it was fine...) Well maybe not that far, but I never got a scratch on the screen sure maybe the plastic casing got beat up from being dropped and such, but my screen got pressed up against carts, a screwdriver to the screen, a razor to the screen and not so much as a scratch... It seems that there are more than software differences between the MT's and maybe some have faulty glass on them... It really makes me wonder, because some people have had their screen cracked and spiderwebbed really easily and others, like me, have had them go through all sorts of things, but are still fine...

Most screen protectors even the "wet" ones aren't easily reusable, however the wet apply type usually come with a lifetime warranty. Just send the old one back and pay return postage and they should send you a replacement. I personally prefer the military grade protectors because the 3M material feels much better than the stock while also not being the fingerprint magnet of bare glass.

It sure looks to me like, in that picture, it still has heavier stock screen protector on it. Did you remove both screen protectors when you got it? Both the flimsy one, that has the tab to grab it for removal, and the heavier one, that is harder to remove?

well u don't need a screen protector. the screen thats already installed is perfectly safe. just don't drop ur phone or else it will crack.

Not necessarily... I've dropped my phone with no case or anything and the screen didn't crack and I'm sure others have as well.

Yep, I removed both screen protectors as soon as I got the phone.

ive dropped mine too many times.. the plastic is roughed up a bit. but the screen is still amazingly fine. Im happy with the quality. i finally decided to buy a hard plastic case (metallic blue) with a mirror finish screen protector. (without the stock protector) and it looks pretty sweet!

just know that when you take off the stock protector. to have patients cleaning the screen. it can get pretty tough trying to take that sucker off, and it can leave sticky residue, but with time, you can clean it off just fine and apply the new protector
