Screen rebound during phone calls?

Just a question. Verizon told me it was how the Rezound functioned as normal.

When on a phone call the screen goes black when i put the phone to my face as normal, but when I remove it from my facial area it does not come back on until I press the power button.

Also sometimes when I'm on a call and pressing buttons (*say "for English press 139876347896"... the screen try's to go black again every couple seconds while i'm pressing said buttons and i have to keep pressing the power button to wake the screen
f'ing annoying!)

this is becoming a pet peeve :0)

is it normal?

First part, yeah that's what I have to also. As for second part. I put on the speakerphone while entry is needed to get around it

thanks, as long as it's normal! I've never had another phone that did this. when you take your face away, it should come back to the phone in use screen!!

Mine didn't do it until after ICS update. I am on my second Rezound and my first one never did it.

Something is screwy with the proximity sensor, plain and simple.

Hmmm... Mine had issues doing that BEFORE going to ICS, and now that it is on the new software it has yet to do it.

You can easily test the proximity sensor, download Phone Tester, go to Sensor Status, then...

WAIT! Don't do that!!! As I was writing this up and trying it as I wrote it up as soon as I started playing in the Sensor Status area my phone rebooted! Weird! Tried it again and it sure enough it rebooted again... Thinking it is not compatible with ICS, time to uninstall it!

Ok, I got nothing then, but...

I have seen various cases, screen protectors, and even grease/makeup screw with the proximity sensor too. If you think you having issues with Prox Sensor, remove your case, remove your screen protector (I know, pain in the a$$), and clean the phone and see if it still does it... I remember on my Inc2 I had issues with this and when I took it into the store we reproduced it easily, until we took off the case ($5 eBay hard case) then it worked fine.

LOL thanks for the info... this is my 2nd rezound...dont recall this being an issue with the first. I have no screen protector and case or not, no different.
I'm beginning to think I'll be another one of those.. "so I returned my 5th rezound and........"
