Help Screen shape

The longer/wider screen is deforming some of my apps. It's like watching 4:3 TV on a 16:9 screen.
Is it possible to have the status bar and notification panel always visible? In order to make the remaining visible screen area nraref the shape I am used to.

try a different launcher. i use nova.....i hate one ui.

Sorry I missed read your post. There's not much you can do as far as screen resolution when you launch an app. Some are not really meant to play on a tablet. You should see some of the apps that run on my chromebook.
