screen shortcuts?

Okay so I'm on Acer's iconia a500 & after ICS has finally settled down (I had update issues) & have installed the adw launcher ex.

Though I am finding it excellent & enjoying the added features & customisations it has I have one feature I'd like that if available I can't find either in adw or as another app.

Here comes the awkward explanation.

I want to have different "categories" of screens i.e. a screen for games, a screen for social (twitter, Facebook etc) & so on.

Not unusual or hard to do so far eh?

Now we're heading into the twist

Using amazing text app (or similar not settled yet) I want to label each screen BUT (here's the twisty bit I can't figure out) I want identical labels on my main home screen that when tapped take me to the required home screen. I also want a home screen shortcut on each screen as well.

Having searched & seen YouTube vids & read articles I believe this is built into certain phone handsets (mostly via a home/screen icon/button) yet the ability to auto switch screens without swiping backwards & forwards through all of them seems to be sadly missing from tablets (at least it seems to be).

So does any one know of an app or a way I can shortcut my way between screens?

By the way you guys are awesome (does subtle creeping work here?) already for the help/advice you gave me over my ICS update problems but here's your chance to become gods amongst mere mortals (is the creeping coming over loud & clear?)

Willing to try just about anything to achieve this if you would be so kind

I have an Atrix 4G and use ADW Launcher as my main launcher. I have my screens set up by category as well, but with out labels on them. (I have 7 home screens.) What I have done is set ADW to switch to helicopter view, shows all 7 home screens at once, when I swipe up from any screen. Tap the screen I need and I'm taken to that screen. So in away, ADW can do sort of what you are asking, just can't label home screens or place short cuts to those home screens on the home page.

I knew asking someone would know lol took some digging to find the setting you mentioned (no mention of helicopter!) But found it & now with a swipe up all screens are accessible instantly.

I kinda knew there'd be something I just couldn't find it. Thanks again.

On phones, Go Launcher has a feature called "screen indicators" which act like the ones on TouchWiz. For example, I am in the middle screen and I want to go to the rightmost screen about 3 swipes away, I just tap on the screen indicator for that particular screen and it goes straight to that without swiping.

While Go Launcher may be feasible on a 7inch tablet, maybe its not so good looking on a larger one. Go Launcher HD (tablet version) is still beta.
