I keep trying to take a screen shot by holding the home screen button and the power button and it keep taking me to what I think is something for google.

Works fine for me. You have to press them at the same time, sounds like you're hitting the home button first which launches Google Now on long press.

You can also do a left to right screen swipe if that is enabled.

I'm having a slightly different problem...

I cannot capture a screen shot at all while pressing home and power at the same time. I can, however, get one with the swipe method. I've tried disabling the swipe capture and still no screen shot via home/power.

Both buttons work individually as they should, just unable to get a screen shot.

It doesn't actually "capture" until you let the buttons go (at the same time). If you hold it down too long waiting for the capture, maybe it times out? Try holding both buttons down at the same time, count to three and let go. That works for me.

It does a superb job of taking screen shots.

Much easier than messing with the phone.

Being conscious of releasing seems to have taken care of it.
