ok here it goes im nt to good with phones and really do not understand them so bare with me please.

ok i bought this phone off of craigslist and it was in great shape so that is what sold me on it, but the only thing was he said it had been unlocked for ATT & tmobile (ATT is my carrier). well i had the phone for a few days and had no issues and then i noticed one day the backlight stayed on and when i pres the home button the phone would take a screen shot and after doing some reading i nderstand the inspires did not come with the screen shop feature so it has to be somthing someone instaled along the line but any how now the phone glitches and when i press the home button it will take screen shots it does not do this all the time but it does get anoying and the only way i can get it to stop taking screen shots is to press the sleep button at the top. i have looked to see if there is a screen shot app or anything on the phone and i can not find one so not sure whats goin on below i have listed some info i got from the phone. if anyone can help me out and figure out how to get rid of this i would be thankful

software information:

Android Version: 2.3.4

HTC Sense Version: 3.0

Software Number: Virtuous Unity V2.39.0

That's pretty weird :p

Okay, you're actually rooted, and what you're seeing isn't a normal Inspire 4g interface. It's actually a highly customized, powerful version of Android designed for your phone. Cool huh?

What you have right now is this ROM
[ROM][Sep 26][ACE] Virtuous Unity 2.39.0 Sense 3.0 based on Pyramid - xda-developers

A ROM is a customized version of Android OS. Usually phone makers and independent developers (people who write software) will design heavily customized layouts for their phones. HTC does this with it's Sense software. In your case, a lot of people decided that HTC Sense was too slow by itself, and removed a lot of non essential stuff that ATT forces on you to make money.

So, what is a custom ROM?

Now back to you're issue at hand. Your ROM, and most other ROMs should only take screen shots if you press homekey+power. Are you sure nothing is jamming down that power button, or acting up? I read over the first link I showed you, and it says you can disable this in settings. press menu, then search for something that says "Tweaks". Search there for something to disable this feature.

If not that, then go through the app drawer and look for something that says 'tweaks' as well. Same as last time, search for an option to disable it.

Hope this wall of text makes sense and helps

you know what as a matter of fact something in this post did inspire a thought. the power button on the top is a little damaged and sometimes its hard for me to wake the phone up or put it to sleep (i believe thats the terminoligy) so maybe the damaged button plus me hitting the home button is causeing the screen shots i never pu 2 an 2 together but now that u say that sounds reasonable thanks alot and i will do some reading
