screen size comparison

From what I have seen, I believe it is almost identical dimension-wise

No. It is not the same. The Motorola DROID screen is 480x854 on a 3.7" screen. The Incredible is 480x800 just like the HTC Desire and the Nexus One. So, the screen on the Moto DROID is actually more of a narrow and taller screen (in portrait orientation) when stretched to 3.7", where the Incredible is a wider screen (in portrait orientation) but not quite as tall.
