Screen stays black after call.

I've seen a few posts on the web about the problem I am experiencing so I know I'm not alone. Moto X Pure screen goes black when phone is put to the ear during a call (as it should). However, when the call is finished and I take it away to end the call, the screen stays black and nothing will bring it back except pressing the power button. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts with the power button to get it back on.

This is very annoying. Not even the motion sensor works when this happens.

Any suggestions?

Are you using a screen protector?
If yes, it could be interfering with the sensor.

No. Out of the box. Nothing on the screen. No root.

Do you have Moto Actions set up so that you can wave hand above screen to wake and see notifications? If that works ok, might be just a software glitch or problems with the phone app.
If that's the case, try a cache wipe in recovery.

I do. Using the action works fine except when a call is ended. I will try the cache wipe. Thanks
