how to change the settings in order for the screen to stay longer than the default time? the screen brightness goes off within seconds.

Changing the tab to performance mode in the quick settings will prevent the auto-dimming that having on balanced or power saver mode causes. If you are talking about the screen timeout, then going into settings/display will allow you set a predetermined time before it turns off.
