I meant to push and hold down the home button, to bring up the list of my recently opened apps. Instead, small thumbnails of each screen appeared at the bottom of my screen. I could tell they were screen thumbnails by the number of them & the way I have my shortcuts arranged. I couldn't get it to appear again. How'd I do that? Anyone know? Maybe I also accidentally hit another button, like volume, at the same time.

it is a feature that came with 2.1. It has also been called "helicopter view". Either "pinch" the homescreen to get the thumbnails or, while on the home screen, hit the home button to get the them. Once you have the thumbnails, you can touch them to quickly go to that screen. To get rid of them, just tap the Home key or pinch the home screen again.
