Help Screen Timeout Issue

I have the screen timeout set to 1 min which works fine until I use the phone. When using the phone the screen times out (and locks) in about 5 seconds. This is a real pain when using voicemail etc and you need to interact with the keypad. Anyone else experienced the same or no a fix?

I guess when you are using mail the proximity sensor starts working and thats why the screen turn off in 5 seconds.


As far as the fix is concerned I am unsure whether an app could be made to toggle the working of proximity sensor or not!

Are you using some widget to lock the screen? bcoz there was such a widget that messed up with the screen timeout..
