Screen too sensitive with pressure?

So when I press and put a bit of pressure on the sides of the screen (not the screen itself but the thin black sides), the middle part is being selected. (ie if there's an app on the middle of the home screen, it's going to be selected) Why is that?? Is my phone broken or something or is it that the xperia x10 is just sensitive to pressure??

I tried it with my Cowon S9 and it did the same thing. I guess touch screens are just sensitive..
