Help Screen turns on with a text message

I just got a razr maxx. I use go sms pro for my text messaging app. Every time I receive a text, my lock screen turns on. I found the setting in go sms pro and turned it off. However, the screen still turns on. What am I missing?

Have u tried rebooting ur phone after u changed the setting?

Yes. I turn my phone off almost every night. I've checked and the turn screen on option is still unchecked.

In the settings, go to advance settings. Go to notification settings. There are two that you have to uncheck. Unlock screen and screen on. Make sure they are unchecked. Hope this helps

I looked again and they are both unchecked. I checked and unchecked them again. The next time I received a text, the screen didn't turn on. Must be I have to do this after every reboot...
