Screen zoom in automatically whilst typing etc

Basically I've had my Nexus for a couple of weeks now and its great apart from one thing that keeps happening, that is very annoying! When I am typing a text message or whatsapp or whatever sometimes the phone thinks im zooming in (may be tapping too quickly?!) is there any way to disable this?:(
 
Mine does this zoom occasionally and magnification gestures are off.

I'd be interested to see what the OP did!
