Hi,

Just got my note, and i saw all the customized screens......drooling.......To be honest i dunno where to begin. I am totaly new to droid, i hope someone share some light to get me started to customize my screen.......

It's probably best to start customising the stock launcher.

Long press on your screen and you get options to move the icons about. Menu button at the bottom lets you change wallpaper. You can add and remove screens.

To change the icons in the Dock (fixed ones at the bottom) you need to be in the App Draw (icon at the right of the dock by default). You can then use the menu button to drag stuff into the dock.

Once familiar you will then want to look at an alternative launcher: Apex, Go Launcher, AWD etc.

I use Go purely because the folders you can put on home screens are nicer than any of the others.

If you use another launcher is there any way to get the Samsung widgets on the screen?

I tried Apex and Atom launchers but when you try to add a widget the Samsung widgets like Samsung Agenda and Samsung MiniTasks aren't listed.

Unfortunately not. There seem to be certain ones that Samsung can hide from other launchers.

Mine was their nice calendar look and feel but since I have switched I have found 3rd party apps that better match my new theme and use the go calendar widget on transparency theme.

That's jsut an example but yes. Samsung have some really nice stuff and some of it is tied to their launcher for obvious reasons. I don't know how tio hack it so I look for an alternative. There are many. Just be careful to read the permissions before trialing.

Actuallly Go Launcher has an option yo import from other launchers I think. Never tried it though, back up you go launcher first.

It didn't when I first started using it but it might do now (new features appear every other week). I used an app called DeskMigrate that worked just fine.
