I tried ShootMe but it gave me distorted images.

Not necessarily, it can be done via the Android SDK.
Alternatively, and probably an easier method, you can do it with myphoneexplorer.

+1 for MyPhoneExplorer.
May be slightly convoluted but seems to be the best way for non rooted phones.
Don't forget that apart from the PC app you need to download MyPhoneExplorer, free, from the Market to your handset.

I did it with the Android SDK, but a thin black bar (16px) appears to the right hand side of every screenshot.
