screenshot for gingerbread?

does anybody know how to do screenshot for gingerbread? thanks!

Without root, you can't. Screen shots became available in Ice Cream Sandwich. However, some Samsung phones (like the Galaxy S II) allows screen shots on Gingerbread. You can try holding down the power and home buttons at the same time. What phone do you have?

It depends on your device. I can do it by pressing the home and back buttons together and I'm unrooted with Froyo (on a Samsung Galaxy Player)

Regardless of button combos that may or may not work, check out Screen Capture Shortcut which does not require rooting.

That app, Screen Capture Shortcut, only works on these devices:

Galaxy S
Galaxy Tab
Galaxy S Ⅱ

My guess is it uses Samsung's built in screen shot capabilities in some of their phones.

That is a valid point that I completely overlooked :o

It was a recommendation I picked up a while ago. I grabbed the link just now without looking at the details, sorry.

After a quick look, there are other apps you can try like No Root Screenshot It that don't need rooting but do require you to connect to a computer to enable it (each time you boot up your phone)
