Help Screenshot glitch

Just wondering if anybody else has an issue when sending screenshots via SMS?

I have tried this with both Go SMS which I use and the normal messaging app.
Whenever I try to send a screenshot, it compresses it and pixellates the text so much it is illegible.

It doesn't with photos.. just screens.

Have tried going into the settings and changing from 'free' to 'restricted' compression but makes no difference.

Try it and see if it happens to you. Wonder if I'm just unlucky? Bah.

I find the screen grabs to be pathetic resolution, it doesn't capture the true image for whatever reason.

I've sent a few through whatsapp though and they remain the same quality that they were taken, I can only imagine how crappy they must be if they are compressed again with whatever app you are using.

The text looks horrible if you compare it to what you actually see on your screen, the edges of the text are not as smooth as the real deal, the colours are off (even on the phone not just when uploaded to another device) on that example the green in the battery icon has different shades due to pixelation.

If you take a screen shot and flip between the screenshot and the actual screen you took a screenshot of you will see a massive difference (do that on the phone itself). Even try it with a photograph rather than text.

This all sounds very picky but an example on the iPhone you could easily take a screenshot of an image you came across and use it as a wallpaper its such an accurate capture.

I'm not seeing an issue. The image that Ballymoss posted has obviously been reduced in size so it lost some of the quality when that happened. These screen shots are 1280 pixels tall so even on some of the biggest monitors they are going to be compressed to fit the screen. Is it possible that the pictures are also being resized when being sent in an SMS due to their size and they're losing quality in the compression?

In gosms settings go into mms settings at the bottom of the settings list. Make sure that "preserve image resolution" is ticked.
