Screenshot issue

So I know I can screenshot by a) swiping up from the home, and to the right or b) from pulldown, hit quick memo.

My question is, how can I take a screenshot of a full screen picture I took. When I do option a or b, I have the bottom row of pics that pops up and the back/home /menu keys in my screenshot?

Simultaneously hold power button and volume down while your full screen pic is being actively displayed.
