Just thought I'd share a tip a found - and it really amazed me!

If you have not rooted your phone you can take a screen shot by holding the power button for 1 or 2 seconds then press the home button at the same time!

Really amazed me! Haha

Working fine for me with 2.3.4 - phone arrived as 2.3.3 and got an OTA update to 2.3.4 from Orange.

Press and hold the power button and within a second or so, tap the home button. (just to be clear: the one on the black strip below the screen)

It still makes the camera shutter sound despite having that disabled for the camera itself, and there doesn't seem to be a way of telling it where to save the captures - they end up in /sdcard/DCIM

Does it not work when using a different launcher then?

All I get is either the power menu pop up or the helicopter view appearing...

Also rooted and running the Android Revolution HD ROM.
