Root it. Which android version do you have? 2.3.4 or 2.3.6. Both rpot methods are in the stickies for the All Things Root.

Okay, well, if you don't know what root is and how to obtain it, you should refer to the threads on this forum if you are interested because it does have its benefits, but you seem to be wondering what root is and why the application is notifying you that you don't have root. Well, there is an app called ASC that doesn't REQUIRE root to be able to record your screen and take screenshots. However, you have to run a computer program with your phone connected for the first time running it, however, root does have its benefits and with it, you don't have to run the computer program.
