I'm looking for a veryyyyy easy to use free app to take screenshots of whatever I'm looking at on my phone where I can save and share the shots I take.....using pantech burst android 2.3.5 thanks n advance

I'm not familiar with Pantech phones so I don't know if they built that functionality into it. If you browse through the list of apps available on Play, you might find something that works for you. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=screenshot&c=apps
thank you i do have a question some of them state phone must be rooted and i dont know what rooted is.... can you inform me please.... thanks... must i remind you and everyone else that may be reading.....i'm completely lost when it comes to phone technology :o

Rooting is gaining administrative access to your phones file system. Basically it allows you to access system files that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

Some phones are easier than others to root. I found this video for your phone, so if you want to give it a look and see if it's something you want to try, we can help you with that.

ok i'm not going to root now like you said i'm not ready for something like that.... at this moment i'd like for someone to recommend a screenshot app that is free and very easy to use....i have other threads open as well regarding other things if ya'll would like to read them :) thanks

I am not familiar with Pantech as well, but HTC and Samsung phones have the capability built in by pressing a combination of keys, usually either home+power or back+home at the same time.

hmmm im sure i can get someone to recommend a snapshot app on this website. thus far this website has been very helpful, i recommend it if anyone was to ask me where to seek help for their android device :)

The problem you are going to face it that the apps that are free require root and the ones that don't aren't free. :(

I use screenshot app by Kastorsoft which says it requires rooted phone but does work on my samsung galaxy mini which is not rooted.

I looked into this a lot when I was using my Droid 3. Unfortunately, if you aren't rooted you aren't going to find a simple screen shot app. There are a couple but they require you to have your phone plugged into your computer and fiddle with some options and it's just...very complicated. Not worth it imo. Since it is a want rather than a necessity, I'd say not to bother. But then again, I'm just a person who doesn't like a lot of fuss. :)

If you happen to get a device with Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) in the future, it will have screenshot functionality built in.

I was going through my apps and I noticed there is one there called social snapshot....it came with phone and there is no option to uninstall....so my question is what the he k is it? The permissions it has is well it has permission to do almost anything...
