Help Scrolling Direction

All of a sudden when I go to the Apps, one has to swipe up or down. It used to be right to left, left to right. No big deal. Just curious: did I somehow set it to do this? If so, I can't find the setting. Or is this an automatic upgrade issue? Be gentle... I'm new to this, believe it or not. Thanks.

The app drawer is provided by the same app that produces your home screens, called a "launcher". If that has been updated then the behaviour can change (I believe that Google have changed this in their launcher app recently). I personally use Nova launcher, which has always had a setting to let me choose between these things, so it might be that your launcher's settings will let you change it. But if you are using the phone's stock launcher it is less likely to give you a choice.

Default launcher - left-right
Google Now Launcher - up-down
Nova Launcher Prime - left-right (default) - up-down can be selected
