Root "SD blank or has unsupported filesystem"

Hey guys, just rooted, installed recovery and cyanogen mod. Worked well, but now my SD card is receiving the "blank or has unsupported filesystem."

Anyone else experience this issue?
 
I doubt we would unless we were running cyanogen mod. Have you asked this question on the site where you got the ROM?

Let me ask you this:

I noticed I wasn't able to format /system in the CW recovery, as directed by the CyanogenMod installation instructions. Any particular reason why? This might have something to do with my SD card mount problem.

Also, (bear with me, I'm a relative n00b with this) I remember on my Acclaim having to format certain things to either ext or fat (something like that). Perhaps I need to do the same in order for my SD to mount properly??
 
Decided to retry flashing for about the 4th time, same problem.

Popped it an old 4GB SD card, but this time it said it was "damaged." Formatted it, and what do you know, it can mount and be used. Don't ask me why...

Even tried another friend's 16GB SD card (same as mine) with the same problem. Very odd...
