Sd card blank or has unsupported file system

Hi,
I have just got my first Samsung Galaxy Ace and after only two days I have an error message reading SD card blank or has unsupported file system.
I have checked on the internet and lots of people seem to have lots of ideas for fixing this but I can't see any foolproof solution. I tried putting the SD card in a micro SD adapter and then into my laptop but it's a Macbook and won't read the files. Please can anyone help?
Many thanks

Hello and welcome to Android Forums! :)

If you are getting read errors from both your phone and an adapter (shouldn't matter if it's a Macbook, it would still be able to read the files) then I would guess you have a bad card. If you put it in the phone and go to menu>settings>storage you can try to reformat it there. If it succeeds, then your file system had been corrupted. If it fails then your card is bad and you'll need to replace it.
