Help SD card destroyed, how to reinstall apps?

SD card decided to spontaneously crap out. I had lots of apps stored on there. I have a replacement SD card coming in tomorrow. How do I go about having the apps that were installed on there re-installed? Will the Market realize the app is no longer on the SD card and ask me to update it?

Thanks for any tips.

The market will remember apps you have downloaded but you'll have to install them all over again.
