Root sd card died and now cannot boot

Hi,

my sd card died and then I couldn't get the phone to reboot. I have bought a new sd card and a battery (just in case) and I have used rsd lite to attempt an SBF. The boot logo has changed (suggesting I did succeed in something) but I still cannot get past the boot logo. I can get into bootloader but can't seem to get anywhere else. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for your expert help.

But it sounds like you didn't wipe data\cache\ and advanced-davlik. The next best thing is to try to unzip the *.zip file for your ROM in winzip on your desktop and make sure the zip file is not corrupt. It would also help if you leave some more info about what exactly you are trying to flash, what version of the bootloader you have, and what version your phone was on previously.

Previously I was on CyanogenMod 7. My bootloader is 30.04. How do I wipe data etc. if I cannot boot into anything at all?

I would happily flash anything that would bring my phone back to operating. I tried several versions of sbf each of which changed my boot logo icon but nothing else.

Thanks

Boot into recovery. From the SBF Process sticky:
"...hold down the home button while you power the device back on... keep holding the home button till you see a triangle with an exclamation point, then let go and hit both volume buttons at the same time to enter Recovery. Use the volume buttons to move down to "wipe data/cache" press the Power button to select then scroll down to "yes" and press Power again. When it finishes (2 - 3 minutes) select "reboot" using the Power button again.
-it will reboot and take a while to do so."

My batteries are now dead. I tried charging it with the method of slicing off the end of a USB cord but I got no charge. When I plugged it into my computer, the computer died instantly as if there had been a power outage.

booting into recovery doesn't seem to work with the wall charger.

I did not, as voodoo feared, load .621. In fact, I last tried a rather old version with a black and white Motorola boot logo.

I am at a loss now.

Find someone else with an X and borrow their battery our have them charge yours.

Supposedly the vzw stores well charge your battery for you too.

I have now charged my battery but cannot boot into recovery. Might it have been destroyed when mybsd card died? Is recovery the same as part of clockworkmode recovery? Did it go away when i sbf'd the phone?

No, that is stock recovery that is on every phone. Now that I think about it, you used a really old SBF? I think the method to get into recovery was different. Just SBF with a more recent SBF...602 or 605. Then the recovery should work.

still no luck, i loaded 605 sbf and rsd lite gave me the 'pass'.

boot logo is now red, but still wont boot into recovery. i even held onto home button for 5 minutes.

anything else?

You are pushing and holding the home button and THEN pressing the power button to turn the phone on while keeping the home button pushed?

Is it possible that the 605 that i am SBFing is not "full?" Or does the fact that RSD gives me a grade of "pass" mean otherwise?

Regardless, i cannot boot into recovery. I am stuck at the logo.
