Help SD Card Not Mounting

Hi,

When I try mounting my memory card, nothing happens. Just a small "mounting SD card" icon appears in the notification area, then disappears after a few seconds

I've tried erasing the memory card. When I do that, it becomes recognisable and usable. But as soon as I restart, I have to try mounting again.

Tried formatting, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have an extra sd card? My friend got this exact same problem and we had a little bit of a hard time figuring how to fix it till I decided to put my sd card on his phone and my sd card worked perfectly. Conclusion: problem with the sd card for his case but it might also be the same problem with you.

1, Install SD Insight, run it, and confirm that the card is as expected e.g. reported capacity matches what is on the tin. Don't worry too much about the "Manufacturer"... most of the major players out-source.

2. If all is well in (1), install SD Formatter on a PC/Mac and use it to reformat the card. This will ensure that the 'protected area' found on all SD/SDHC/SDXC cards is left intact while correctly formatting the correct useable space.
