sd card not reading

My phone stated there wasn't enough storage on the phone. I went to the storage settings and realized it said there was no sd card however there was one. I put the sd card in another phone and it still didn't read. I put another sd card in my phone and it read that card. Is it possible to recover my information off the sd card without spending a lot of money.

View the card on a PC. See if you can view the files. If so, back them up. If not you can try an sd recovery software and attempt to recover some of the data with free software such as Recuva.
