SD card not recognized on HTC Incredible

I have an HTC Incredible and it won't recognize my SD card. It's a new card and it won't recognize on another phone I tried too. The options to mount an SD card and erase an SD card are grayed out. I can format phone storage, but it will erase everything on the phone. Please help.
 
Well if the card isn't recognized by multiple devices, I hate to say it, but it sounds like a bad card. If it's new, maybe you can exchange it? If not, unfortunately it may be time to purchase a new one. You can find them pretty cheap on Amazon these days.

Does a pc recognize the card? You may try formatting it on a pc to see if that helps. A newer card may be formatted to exfat which possibly could cause issues. Try formatting to fat32 and try again before throwing in the towel.
