Help sd card not working

hello ok so here is what happening i went and bought a brand new micro sd card 8 gigabytes
i insert it in my phone mount it and format and change defualt storage location to sd card and it still displays not enough space please help

On phones capable of installing apps on external sd card, part of the app still stays on internal storage so you maybe need to still free up some internal space. Also not all apps will save to external
