Sd card problem

How old is the card, what brand (is it a cheapo)?
They do fail after a lot of writes especially the off-brand ones or worse counterfeit.
Best thing is to copy all the files from it while you still can and replace it with a good quality new one.

Since the Moto G Stylus claims the card is corrupted, is it safe to remove it? It's been about a week now. As far as I know the phone isn't using it. Do I have to shut it off first? Since the side buttons do not work, my only choice is to use restart. If I powered it off, how would I get it on again?

Maybe charge it and it should automatically power on again... or leave it alone and see what the tech guys can handle it.
If you aren't using any of the old tricks to "extend" memory onto the SD card the chances of corrupting something when you remove it are low, but particularly if it may already be flaky it's probably best to play safe.
I don't have this phone, and it's a long time since I had any phone with an SD slot, so don't know what's still available. But the first thing I'd do is looking in the phone's Storage settings to see whether there is an option to unmount the card in there (there used to be, but I don't know about now).
If not I'd see whether your file manager can unmount the device.
(I assume you haven't formatted the card as internal storage: if you have everything becomes harder as it will be encrypted so that no other device can read it).

No, I would never fall for that old trick. I briefly considered it years ago, but when I found out the truth...forget it. I checked both storage and fossify files. The former claims 0 and is suggesting that I format the card (no). The latter doesn't show it at all. Meanwhile I get a message that there is an "issue" with the card. By the way, the only tech guys I know are you.
