SD card problem

Hello, i have a problem setting an ringtone to my phone. I downloaded an mp3 (Awolnation - Sail.mp3) modified the file with sound forge, to the passage i wanted from the song, and uploaded onto my SD card. It plays well, i can setup as a ringtone but after a restart of the phone the file is corrupted and it is not playing anymore. What can i do ?

P.S. : The phone is rooted.

Very interesting... If you copy the correct file to the SD card and restart the phone the file gets corrupted again?

yep ... it looks like the phone doesn't wanna play this song ... i copyed the file in SD and just restarted the phone and the file is corrupted ... i'l try sending the file with the bluetooth.

Maybe the problem is in the SD card. Try testing it with chkdsk on Windows (you may want to use the options /f /r /x).

If that doesn't work try copying two different correct files to the card and setting either as the ringtone. Then reboot your phone and check what gets corrupted. It could be helpful if you uploaded the correct and the corrupted files here.

Well ... it looks like the file sent from the bluetooth is ok even after reboot... i rebooted the phone for 3-4 times and the file is intact ... my pc has no viruses ... so i guess that is something wrong with the cable connection. I tryed sending a video file 1'st way on cable with debugging mode on ... it works ... after restart is corrupted or missing from the dir, 2'nd way i sent the file with debugging mode off, the file works and after restart the file was there but corrupted... 3'rd way i sent the file with bluetooth .. it works... and after restarting the phone the file is still there.. the phone is routed and factory data reseted... (the factory data reset has been made when the phone gave the first error with the mp3 file)

you modified the file with sound forge, have you tried any unmodified files to see if that has any bearing on the problem?

Yes ... i tried and the ressult is te same ... the file is corrupted after reboot if is sent by cable.

Thanks argedion ... but i find out that even with AirDroid i had problems... bu they where fixed so : removed the SD card from the phone, inserted to an PC, back-up all the data, formatted the SD card, copy-ed back to SD card the data and then inserted to the phone. I verified the SD card by copying an mp3 to the phone, restarted the phone and listening to the mp3 and it worked.

So if you have the same problem just do what i did now and it will work just fine after that.
Thank you all for the reply's.
