SD card problems

A couple days back I was dragging music onto my phone when both my phone and my computer froze simultaneously.. I had to unplug my phone without "Safely Removing" it from vista. Now everytime I try and plug in my phone it comes up with the "Scan and Fix (Recommended)" box, I try to scan and fix the phone, but when I press start it just instantly closes out and the computer no longer recognizes a E: drive (the drive my phone uses), and I have to safely remove the phone then plug it back in without scanning it to manage files. When I try to do that, it always freezes.. I want to be able to scan and fix without it crashing!

I always get scan and fix on my vista machine, I just ignore it.

If you have a card reader on your PC you could put the card in the PC, copy everything off then format the card. Maybe that will help you.

I know, but I would like a complete fix to this problem in general its very annoying... Will it work if I try to fix my phone on another person's computer? Is it my computer that isn't letting me scan and fix the SD Card/phone?
