SD Card Recommendation?

I am wanting to rip some dvds to a sd card, and then watch them on my 10.1 2014 tablet. Once the movies are watched, I will delete them and record new ones to the sd card. Which Sd card should I buy? Are they all the same or should I look for one with higher write/read speeds? What type of sd card would you recommend?

PS...I would also like to be able to remove it and plug it into my windows 7 machine for transferring the movies to it so I will probably need a usb adapter or something.

I have the Samsung 200GB card in my Moto X Pure, and it works brilliantly. If you're going to delete the movies after you watch them, you won't need that much capacity... a 64GB card, Class 10 or better, should be fine. Just be sure it's a reputable brand from a known good seller so you don't get a counterfeit.

Thanks Chief...is it practical to remove the micro sd card and use it with an adapter on my desktop pc for disk management or is there a better method? I looked at the OTG cables and was wondering about going that route with a large capacity flash drive. I was wondering if it maybe easier for plugging into my desktop and adding / deleting files. I am not sure if the transfer rate though would be fast enough to watch videos over it on the tablet. What do you think?

I usually stick with San Disk and right now they have CRAZY good prices on Amazon:

$99 for a 200GB card

Not sure you're gonna beat that and SanDisk has always proved reliable for me. You'll note that it says, "Comes with SD adapter" at the bottom, so you should have no problem using in mobile devices and your computer.

So I bought a Class 10 Samsung 128gb micro-sd card and put some movies on it. The movies will not play from the card. If I move/copy the file from the sd card to internal storage on the samsung tablet, they will play just fine. I am thinking i got a bad sd card because the price was like 25 dollars on ebay, and after I bought it, ebay pulled the listing and left me a message that I didnt have to complete the sale. The message was too late as I had already paid for it.

So anyways, have any of you actually watched movies from a 128gb sd card on the samsung tablet and if so which card? I am ready to purchase the san disk card listed above but would hate to spend another 50 dollars if I still cant watch videos from the card.

Use an app called SD Insight to determine if your card is authentic.

Can you even use a 128 GB card on a 2014 10.1 Note at all? It's an older tablet so does it support that?

I don't see why not. It should be able to read up to a 200GB card, which is the largest legitimate card currently available.
