Root SD card shows empty, but there ARE files on it

For some reason my SD card shows as empty when I try and access it via my PC. However, when I use Astro File Manager or another similar app, I can see the many files on it when looking at them via the phone, but as I said, when I look at it on my PC and click on my "ext sdcard" folder, it's completely empty.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what it is.

Sounds like the SD card file system is different than what windows can read

That shouldn't be the case, especially since I've never had this problem before.

When you open the SD card, click on Organize, folder options, and make sure "show hidden files and folders" is checked. Wait that shouldn't matter.

I bet your SD card got corrupted somehow.

A brand new card? That seems unlikely (though not impossible).

Copy everything off of it to your computer. Format it (fat32 I believe) and copy everything back. That usually fixes stuff like this.

OK, I did all that and put back that which I copied from the card.
