Hi folks, yep it's another clueless newb. Sorry, but after a bunch of google searches, I still need some help. I really appreciate any info.

I have a Moto G 3 that recently updated to Marshmellow. There' a metric ton of bloatware on it, so I have a 32GB SD card to store pics and apps. After the update, all my SD apps were moved to internal memory. There are no options to move them back to the SD card. I'm almost out of internal memory, and I'm getting that warning message about apps not running correctly.

The SD card is there; the phone lists it under Storage & USB, and I can access photos on it. But when I go to apps and select one I know was on my SD card (like a near-useless United Airlines app), it's on internal memory and there's no option to move it. What gives?

Last question: I want to free up memory and get rid of unwanted apps like Instagram and Facebook. But I cannot delete them from my phone for some stupid reason. Is there a reliable way to get rid of apps?

Marshmallow introduced a new way of using the SD card for app storage: you can "adopt" the card, reformatting it so that the phone treats it as internal storage, which then allows you to store apps fully on it (the old system only actually moved part of the app).

It has a couple of drawbacks though. Firstly, the formatting will wipe the card, so save all data off it first. Secondly, the card will be formatted to a linux filesystem and encrypted. This means that you won't be able to put it in a card reader and transfer files to/from it, nor will you be able to use it in another phone. Only you can decide whether these downsides outweigh the gain in app space.

Not all manufacturers have removed the old way of moving apps, but if you no longer have a "move to sd" button for any of your apps it sounds like Moto may have done so (though I am a bit surprised).

As for pre-installed apps, you can't remove them without root because they will be in the /system partition, which you don't have write access to. That said, because they are in the /system partition they also aren't using any of "your" space; your own apps are installed to the /data partition, and removing things from /system won't give you any more space in /data. However, any updates to them, and any data they store, do use your space. So what I recommend is that for any that you don't want, go in to Settings > Apps, uninstall any updates to them, clear all data for them, then disable them. If you do this then they aren't using any of your space, can't run, and won't pester you for updates. For all practical purposes it would be as if you had uninstalled them.
