Help SD Card stuck in HTC Inspire

While debugging HTC Sync problems, phone support asked me to pull my SD card out and re-insert it. When I re-inserted it, expecting a stop, it slid into the back cover and is now inaccessible. Short of a hammer, any suggestions for getting it out? Am I the only lucky one who's done this?

I don't think I have come across anyone else who has done this. Any way you could use a paperclip? Not sure if there is any space to wedge it in there to try and wiggle it out.

The Inspire is particularly difficult to disassemble. However, the translucent piece that holds both the SD card and the SIM card, with the BT and SD logo on it, is held in by three T5 Torx screws. You should be able to take that off (which will void your warranty). With that piece removed, it may be easier to get at the SD card.
