When I format my card can I put it back totally empty or does it have to have anything on it specifically for it to work with my phone. I realise that I wont have piccies etc on it. Thanks.

Format it as FAT32 ... then you are good to go ... formatting wipes everything to begin with ... your phone will then use the space as needed ..
